Foundational courses

Depending on your undergraduate background and prior coursework, you may need to complete up to 14 foundational credits in addition to the program’s 48 graduate-level credits. These courses provide the academic underpinning necessary for graduate study in communicative sciences and disorders.

Clinical immersions

You are required to complete two on-campus clinical immersions at NYU in New York City as part of the program’s clinical preparation sequence. Housing, transportation, and other expenses are your responsibility.

Eligible graduate students may borrow up to $20,500 per academic year through the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan program.

To receive federal student aid, students must be enrolled at least half-time (a minimum of 4.5 credits per semester).

You may decide to explore private loans to supplement your other aid. Please be sure to compare options and consider your obligations as a borrower before you commit to a private loan.

A select number of scholarships are awarded to students pursuing speech-language pathology who demonstrate a commitment to making a difference in their communities.

Scholarships are awarded based on application review and submission of the FAFSA to NYU. Ensure you have submitted the FAFSA to be considered for school-based scholarships. Review other opportunities for specialty scholarships (which require a separate application) and external scholarships.
